Mission & Purpose


FEW is a membership organization, which strives to eliminate sex discrimination in the federal government; enhances opportunities for career advancement of women; establishes and maintains with federal agencies, working relationships that advocate the fair application of EEO and personnel laws, policies, procedures, and practices; improves the quality of life for women by influencing Congressional and administration actions; and works continually to achieve a unified and diverse membership that values and capitalizes on similarities and differences at all levels of the organization.

The FEW mission and purpose statement was revised to recognize that the mission of an organization as its driving force, and that FEW's mission needed to be consistent with the needs of federal women.

FY 2008 GOALS - GREATER OKLAHOMA CITY CHAPTER #30
  • Enhance the visibility of FEW within our workplace and the local community to promote the goal of working for the advancement of women in Government.

  • Encourage membership from various agencies located within the vicinity of Oklahoma City.

  • Increase membership by 10% annually and maintain an internal membership database.

  • Plan and present programs to meet FEW’s four major focus areas: Compliance (EEO Complaints Process/Sex Discrimination/Sexual Harassment), Diversity, Legislative, and Training.

  • Host a Legislative Breakfast/Lunch to reinforce FEW’s Tier I – III issues.

  • Submit the chapter’s quarterly reports in accordance with the National Policy and Procedures Manual (NPPM).

  • Submit for Regional and National awards in at least three categories.

  • Communicate regularly with all members through the monthly distribution of the chapter newsletter and/or other means of communication.
